Shine A Little Light On Me

This light had a past life filled with kerosine and as part of a heater.  It's much happier now as a light. Really, it is. All new wiring, the cord only looks old-which is always a plus. The light is a little 15 watt bulb.  Great mood lighting, for whatever mood you'd like!

Found Object Neckwear

Here's a small sample of a few of the found objects I made into neck chains or necklaces. The hunt is always on for more.
A school key from 1943 with the initials M.R.I. on the back. I can't read the Latin on the key, but maybe you can?

100 year old miniature antique German Frozen Charlotte dug from the earth near an old factory, mother of pearl disk and Victorian gold bead, now a necklace. A bit of history to wear around your neck.

Got Sparks? Vintage Eisemann spark plug tool.

Cartographer's tool, used to measure distance on a map. This one is from England. Great for that next road trip when you forget your iPhone and the GPS doesn't work in your car and you just happen to have an actual paper map! Or you have a great conversation starter when someone asks if that is a clock  around your neck.

"For Eisemann" is stamped into this tiny wrench. This is a fun guy gift.

Very small brass lock with turquoise, red coral and what I think is coconut shell. It was on a broken necklace I picked up in a thrift shop and wasn't marked. This is great by itself or layered with another longer piece.

Do you know what this is? I had one and used to wear it around my neck on a piece of string.

Every Saturday we stayed at my Grandma's house.  She only lived a few blocks from our house, but her block had sidewalk all the way around it. It was prime for roller skating.

At least until 12:30pm or so... then it was time to gather up my younger sisters and walk downtown to go to the afternoon movies that started at 1pm. Two movies with cartoons sandwiched in the middle and previews, so we were busy until at least 4, maybe 5pm and by then our mom was through work.

I can't see or think of a skate key without hearing this song in my head .....

Natural Baltic Amber Focal Necklace & Earrings

These wonderful large natural Baltic Amber beads are some I ordered from a seller in Poland and I just love them!
There are so many other beads in this necklace, I had to write them down as I put it all together, just so I would not forget any of them. Here we go : rustic milky peridot, mat collaphrase, African tribal clay beads, tiger eye, ostrich egg, bauxite heishe African trade beads, matt purple creek jasper, opaque olivine, African glass beads, a vintage skeleton key and the speckled round clay disk is from Scorched Earth in the UK.

The earrings have sunflower yellow Picasso beads, Kenyan copper heishi, tiger eye and African black recycled glass with hand formed ear wires.
Let's pretend those white 'highlights' are from an amazing hair stylist and didn't just grow there, OK?
These are both available for purchase, either as a set or individually.

That's an antique Banjo-uke or Banjolele sitting on top of the vintage cowboy twin quilts.

Here's a one of a kind Blind Buddha Guitar also from Bad Monkey House, resting on the pillows. These are created from vintage boxes, banjo necks and vintage finds. Sounds as good as it looks, too!

New One Of A Kind Bad Monkey House Lights

These two lights are now at Boys' Fort in Downtown Portland, Oregon.
The top red one was a railroad train stop light.  It now is wired for electricity and has an Edison lightbulb to brighten up your train room, den or office.
The larger vintage light had a previous life as a Perfection kerosine heater. The original glass makes this extra special.

Victorian Bracket Edison Light

Here's another Bad Monkey House Light. This one has a beautiful scrolled Victorian bracket attached to a vintage piece of wood that had a previous life as part of wall trim. It hangs from a leather thong.
The fixture is also vintage, the old looking, but new cord, has an on off switch on it. The cord runs through an antique metal pulley.
The Edison light is included with this unique, one of a kind wall light.

Pendleton Wool Denim Jackets

This has become my go-to baby gift.
I hand embroidered the name of Little Miss Isabelle, who will be making her appearance sometime the first week of November (or earlier?) on this tiny jean jacket. On the card are hair bows made of Pendleton Wool. Miss Isabella will fit right in with the Portland hipsters.

The Pendleton wool on the back of this jacket was washed before stitching, so the jacket will be washable. Important for kids clothes!
These gifts have been so warmly received (pun intended) that I made up more.

This child's size 4 is for sale at Boys' Fort in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Here are four more denim jackets in children's sizes that will also be heading to Boys Fort.
If there is any interest in adult sizes, I'll also be adding those to the line up.
So, if you have a baby shower, birthday or hey, even need a Christmas present (sorry to scare you with the thought that it's just around the corner) and don't live in the Portland Oregon area, just drop me a note at Bad Monkey House and I can tell you what sizes I have available.
